Associate Conductor of the GSO since 1979, and Music Director of its Young People’s Concerts series, Patricia Handy also presents the popular pre-concert lectures. Currently Conductor Laureate of Goliard Concerts in New York, her guest conducting engagements include the Louisiana Philharmonic, Kiel Philharmonic (Germany) and the Colorado, Utah, Syracuse, Spokane, Eugene and Colorado Springs Symphonies. A graduate of Peabody Conservatory and The Juilliard School, Ms. Handy was the first American woman to receive a conducting fellowship to the Tanglewood Music Center. She has been a member of the choral faculty at Juilliard and conductor of its Pre-College Symphony.
